1/365: a tree grows in Murfreesboro

Third or fourth time’s the charm, right?? Having another go at the 365. I think if I added up all the 365s I started they might possibly add up to 365….maybe!

After a long run of black and white, I decided to mix it up with this lovely color photo taken a couple of weeks ago. After a long hot Tennessee summer, I am ready to say goodbye to the sweltering heat and welcome fall. I’m looking forward to my favorite time of year with the changing of the leaves, a nice brisk breeze, morning fog, frozen dew, and lots of photography!!

The Parthenon: In Nashville!

I think many visitors are surprised to see such an awesome piece of architecture in Nashville. It was built as a temporary piece in 1897 for the Tennessee Centennial Exposition. Eventually most of the facade was replaced with material that would stand the test of time (and the extremely hot humid summers in TN.) Inside is an beautiful replica of Athena. A definite must to see in Nashville!

I’m catching up on the August in B&W project and posting a few of the photos from the past couple of days. Some I take in b&w and some I convert later. The conversion seems to be harder for me as I’m comparing it to the color version. This has been a great project in seeing things in b&w!
